Preventive Maintenance at Johnny's Automotive
Maintenance built around your manufacturer's schedule, not a shop's upsell list. You get photos of what we found, and a straight answer when something can wait.
How do I know what maintenance my car actually needs?
Keeping a car healthy costs less than fixing what neglect breaks. That's the whole argument for maintenance, and it doesn't need any drama attached to it. Fluids wear out, filters fill up, parts that move eventually wear. Handling that on a schedule is almost always the smaller bill, and the car tends to stay predictable a lot longer. We're not going to tell you the sky is falling. We'll tell you what your car is due for and let you decide.
What gets done, and when, comes from your manufacturer's schedule. Not a list of services we sell at every visit. The people who engineered your car published intervals for it, and that's the document we work from. Bring your owner's manual if you like reading along, or just give us the year, make, model, and mileage and we'll pull up what applies. Some of what shows up on a generic quick-lube menu isn't in your manual at all, and we'll say so when that's the case.
Most manuals list two schedules: normal service and severe service. Severe isn't about abuse. It covers short trips, stop and go traffic, heat, dust, and towing, which describes a lot of Central Florida driving. Heat is hard on fluids, and a car that never gets fully warmed up on a two mile run to work is living a harder life than the mileage suggests. That doesn't mean everything comes due earlier. It means a few specific things do, and part of our job is telling you which ones instead of moving every interval up.
Every maintenance visit includes a digital inspection, and the photos go to your phone. You see the filter, the fluid, the tread, the leak, whatever we found, in your car and not in a brochure. That's what makes a maintenance visit honest. It also gives us room to say the most useful thing a shop can say, which is that something can wait. If your brake fluid still looks right, we're not flushing it to fill an hour.
Maintenance visits are also when small problems get caught while they're still cheap. The car is already on the lift, so our ASE certified technicians see the seeping hose, the belt starting to crack, the tire wearing on one edge. A note in your file and a photo on your phone beats a tow six months later. Work we do is backed by a 36 month, 36,000 mile nationwide warranty, and you can get it done at whichever of our six shops is easiest for you.
Brian and Johnny started this shop in 2006 out of a race car garage with one rule: put the customer over the money. Telling you a service can wait is that rule doing its job.

Why choose Johnny's Automotive for preventive maintenance
We are your trusted partner for all preventive maintenance needs.
The schedule comes from your manual, not our menu
We work from the intervals your manufacturer published for your specific year, make, model, and mileage. If a service shows up on a generic maintenance menu but isn't in your manual, we'll tell you that instead of writing it up.
You see the photos before you decide
Every visit includes a digital inspection, and the photos go straight to your phone. You look at your own filter, fluid, and tread and make the call yourself, which is a lot easier than trusting a description over the counter.
ASE certified technicians, and a warranty behind the work
The maintenance is done by ASE certified technicians, and what we do is covered by a 36 month, 36,000 mile nationwide warranty. That coverage travels with the car, not just with our shop.

Took my car to Johnny’s for regular maintenance, they were thorough, reasonable, and quick. Jeff was amazing, customer service was great, the facility is clean and not like any other shop I’ve been to. Highly recommended!

Very trustworthy. Prices are equal to or slightly less than what I would pay for the same maintenance or repair service at a dealership. However, the positive difference in the attitude of their customer people, and their efficient and immaculate business environment, their customer service amenities in the waiting room, and the overall verifiable, concrete evidence of a strong customer focus ethic - all go together to make Johnny's my maintenance and repair shop of choice, whether it is my 13-year-old car, or my 2-year-old's car. They make what could potentially be a very unpleasant experience, just the opposite. Kudos to the manager and all those who work there, from the mechanics to the customer service desk. Excellent place, staffed by people who take excellence seriously.

Used to go to their Haines City shop, now I live in WH and this shop is every bit as great! Brought my car in for issues with my front axle. Loved that I was able to schedule an appointment online, and was updated through the inspection and repair process with detailed photos and descriptions. Amazing customer service from the front desk and also from technician that I spoke with on the phone. Hands down the best shop in central Florida!

Preventive Maintenance questions, answered
Common questions about our preventive maintenance services.
How do I know what my car actually needs right now?
Give us the year, make, model, and mileage and we'll pull up the schedule your manufacturer published for that car. That tells us what's due by the book. The digital inspection tells us the rest, because a photo of your actual filter or fluid beats a guess every time.
Do I have to go to the dealer to keep my factory warranty?
No. You can have your scheduled maintenance done at an independent shop like ours without giving up your factory warranty. What matters is that the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and that you keep the records. We document what we did, when, and at what mileage, so you have the paperwork if anyone ever asks for it.
What is severe service, and does Florida driving count?
Most owner's manuals list two schedules, normal and severe. Severe covers short trips, stop and go traffic, heat, dust, and towing, and a lot of Central Florida driving lands in that column. It doesn't move every interval up, but it does move a few, and we'll point out which ones apply to how you actually drive.
Can you set up a maintenance schedule for me?
Yes. We'll build it off your manufacturer's intervals and how you use the car, then keep it in your file so each visit picks up where the last one left off. You'll know what's coming next and roughly when, instead of finding out at the counter.
What happens if you find something during a maintenance visit?
We photograph it, send it to your phone, and tell you whether it needs doing now or can wait. Plenty of things can wait, and we'd rather say that than sell you a service you don't need yet. Nothing gets done without you saying yes to it first.
