Fluid discipline is a big piece of that, especially with the automatic. Nissan has used continuously variable transmissions across much of its lineup, and a CVT is fussier about fluid type and service interval than a traditional automatic. We look up the specification for your vehicle, use what it calls for, and note it in your record. The same care goes into cooling system service, brake fluid, and the differential and transfer case work on the trucks.
