Brake Pedal With Little to No Resistance After a Hard Stop
What the customer reported
The vehicle owner reported the brake pedal had not felt right for a while, with little to no resistance, and said they felt and heard something when they slammed on the brakes about a week earlier. They had bled the brakes the day before, but it had no effect on pedal feel, and there was no visible fluid on the ground.
What we found and did
At our Haines City shop, the technician found the front calipers leaking, the inner and outer pads showing tapered wear, and the rotors rusted and pitted, while the rear wheel cylinders were leaking and the rear brake shoes were contaminated from fluid. The team replaced the front pads, rotors, calipers, and hoses, and replaced the rear shoes, drums, and wheel cylinders. The brake system was then serviced using a BG fluid kit and refreshed with new fluid.

Extended Crank Time After a Thursday Starting Problem
What the customer reported
The vehicle owner reported starting issues that began Thursday afternoon. The car did not need a jump the morning of the visit, but it still had an extended crank.
What we found and did
The battery failed load testing at our Haines City shop, pointing to it as the cause of the starting issues. The technician removed the failed battery and installed a new Die Hard Gold battery to address the extended crank.

Temp Gauge Stuck on Cold and Fans Running After Shutoff
What the customer reported
For about six months, the vehicle's temperature gauge would drop all the way to cold, the cooling fans kept running after the engine was shut off, and the A/C blew warm whenever the issue acted up. The owner had been disconnecting the battery to temporarily reset the system, and the check engine light finally came on.
What we found and did
Using the check engine light as the starting point, the technician performed an initial assessment that traced the concern to the thermostat housing and its coolant temperature sensor. The team replaced the thermostat housing along with the coolant temperature sensor, removing and reinstalling surrounding components as needed for access. The cooling system was topped off with fluid as required, and the repair was retested and verified with a final road test at our Haines City shop.
Result
The repair addressed the root cause of the false cold readings, runaway fans, and check engine light, so the owner no longer needed to disconnect the battery to reset the system.
Pro Tip
A temperature gauge reading cold on a warmed-up engine often means the coolant temperature sensor is sending bad data, which can confuse fan and A/C control. Disconnecting the battery only masks it, so have it diagnosed before the engine runs on bad readings.
