No. The serpentine belt runs on the outside of the engine and drives accessories like the alternator and AC compressor. The timing belt sits behind a cover and keeps internal engine parts synchronized. Replacing one doesn't touch the other, and they fail in completely different ways.

Usually for a little while, but a squeal means the belt is already slipping, and a slipping belt isn't charging or cooling at full strength. It's an inexpensive thing to handle before it turns into a tow.

Not always. They get checked every time, because they're right there with the belt off and because a bad one will chew up a new belt. If they spin smooth and quiet and the tensioner holds proper tension, we leave them alone and tell you they're fine.
