Seasonal Tire Change at our Sebring shop

There's no snow season here, so for most of our customers this isn't a service they'll ever need. It exists for two specific groups, and if you're not one of them, you can skip this page with our blessing.

The first group is the two-home crowd. If you keep a winter set for the drive north and an all-season or summer set for down here, somebody has to change them over twice a year. We handle that around your travel dates, before you head out and again when you get back.

How the swap goes depends on how your spare set is stored. If the winter tires are already mounted on their own wheels, it's a straight changeover: four wheels off, four wheels on, lug nuts torqued to spec, pressures set, TPMS sorted. It's quicker and it's easier on the tires. If you have only the tires and one set of wheels, each tire has to be broken off the rim and its partner mounted and balanced in its place, twice every year. That's more labor and more handling of the bead and the sealing surface, which is why a lot of seasonal drivers eventually buy a second set of wheels and stop thinking about it.

The second group is seasonal residents whose vehicle sits for half the year. Sitting is harder on tires than driving is. The weight of the car resting on one patch of tread for months can leave flat spots you feel as a shimmy for the first few miles. Air seeps out slowly whether the car moves or not, and an underinflated tire baking in Florida heat takes the worst of both. Our sun and humidity also work on the rubber the entire time, so a tire with plenty of tread can still need looking at on age and condition alone.

So when you come back and the car's been parked since spring, bring it by before you start running errands on it. We'll set pressures, go over the tires, and tell you plainly what we see.
