Your vehicle runs on about half a dozen fluids, and every one of them has a different job and a different way of wearing out.
Engine oil lubricates moving parts and carries heat and combustion byproducts away. Coolant manages temperature and protects the metal in the cooling system from corrosion. Brake fluid turns your foot pressure into stopping force at the wheels. Transmission fluid lubricates and cools, and in an automatic it is also the hydraulic fluid that makes the shifts happen. Power steering fluid pushes the assist on vehicles that still use it. Differential and transfer case fluids carry gear loads on trucks and all wheel drive vehicles.
They do not wear out at the same rate or for the same reasons. Brake fluid pulls moisture out of the air. Coolant runs out of additive package long before it runs out of color. Transmission fluid cooks when it works hard, towing, hills, stop and go traffic in August. Engine oil takes on fuel and soot. A shop that services all of them on one calendar is guessing.
So we test first. On a service visit our ASE certified techs measure condition on the fluids that can be measured, check level, color, and smell on the rest, and send the digital inspection with photos to your phone so you see what we saw. If a fluid is still doing its job, we say so and we leave it alone. If it is not, we show you why and you decide what happens next.
That is how Brian and Niki have run it since 2006: put the customer over the money. Work we do is backed by our 36 month, 36,000 mile nationwide warranty.
Transmission fluid and filter service is a bigger job than a fluid check, so we quote it as its own service rather than folding it in. And when you want to know how often something is due, your owner's manual is the authority. We will read it with you.
During inspection at our Lake Wales shop, the technician found the passenger rear wheel bearing / hub assembly making noise.

Read the full jobAfter taking my vehicles to the dealers and paying overpriced fees for service, I found out about Johnny’s Automotive and got my 1st oil change with them. Not only the price, but the customer service made me feel like I just found a long lost family member and we have been going to them ever since. My best experience with Johnny’s was recently when my son’s car was driving a little rough. He decided to take it to a Honda dealer and they gave us a ridiculous quote after trying to have us trade in our car and sign off on “risks” that we were taking if we chose to get the car repaired. I decided to take the car to Johnny’s Automotive, and they fixed the car with no problem in the same day for a lot less money. The car drives great and we are very satisfied with the work Johnny’s Automotive does for us.

They filled my heart with their kindness and generosity because I work with a young man with special needs and he loves this place!! I simply ask for a card with their business name on it and They went above & beyond to even give me a t-shirt for him! They made his birthday and Christmas and the beautiful Day to remember.

After an accident that totaled her vehicle, I bought a used car in Indiana and delivered it to my daughter who goes to school in Lake Wales, Florida. I had some issues on the way I had them inspected. They found several things that needed to be corrected immediately, including brakes and transmission fluid and a new alternator. He showed me everything they were going to replace via pictures. Repairs were done in a day. They even stayed over to make sure the repairs were done to my satisfaction. I told him it was for my daughter. Had to treat the car like their daughters were driving it. They told me we will take care of her. That's what I needed to hear. Being from out of town, I didn't know who to trust. The Google reviews were great for Johnny's. I was not disappointed. I highly recommend these guys. This was for the Lake Wales location.
