Most shifting complaints turn out to be something smaller than a transmission. Slipping, a harsh or delayed shift, a shudder at highway speed, a light on the dash. Every one of those can come from a solenoid, a failing sensor, a wiring problem, low fluid, or fluid that has stopped doing its job. Those are ordinary repairs with ordinary bills. So we find out which one you have before anybody says a word about replacing anything.
Diagnosis runs the same way every time. We scan for codes and read the live data the transmission is reporting, check fluid level and condition, then drive the vehicle and try to reproduce what you felt. The road test earns its place, because "it hesitates from a stop when it is cold" points somewhere very different than "it shudders at 45 in top gear." Your description is part of the diagnosis, so tell us exactly what you noticed and when it happens.
Automatics, manuals, and CVTs fail in different ways and we treat them that way. An automatic shifting hard or late is often electronic or hydraulic before it is mechanical. A manual that fights you getting into gear usually comes back to the clutch, the hydraulics that operate it, or the linkage, not the gearbox. A CVT does not shift in the usual sense at all, so a shudder or engine speed that climbs out of step with your acceleration means something specific, and we test it against what the manufacturer says that unit should be doing.
You get the digital inspection with photos on your phone, the fluid included, and a plain explanation of what we found. If the answer turns out to be a solenoid and a fluid service, we are happy to be the ones who tell you that.

Im not an easy to person to please but they've got me. All smiles here. I gladly give then a 5 star review. Id give them 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended. Final thought.. I go to the Winter Haven location and although the lounge is smaller, it's always clean and welcoming. I dont want to leave even after my car is ready. Usually my husband is the one that takes our vehicles to be serviced. But on that particular day I had to take it.Going to auto shops gives me anxiety because from experience they bring you a list of “issues”. I needed a service B on my Mercedes GLA350, which later turned into needing new brake pads. They were so throughout and kind during the entire process. By choice, I spent hours in the lobby doing some work on my lap top. They offered a complimentary ride to any place that I wanted to go, even a loaner car if I decided to go home. The lobby was actually calm with plenty of snacks and refreshments. The gentleman that ran the front of the counter were extremely nice and respectful. Once the car was complete, I had 4 purple roses on my dashboard (This was right before Mother’s Day weekend) Such a kind gesture! My family will be using their services in the future. I’m recommending them to everyone :)

I went to Johnnys because of a battery concern on my Mercedes a 220. Mike quickly wrote up my concern and dispatch the car to Edgar. They quickly proceeded to do a safety inspection as well as diagnose the problem being a secondary battery. Part was ordered and replaced in a very timely manner. Price was very competitive and a lot Less than Mercedes-Benz had quoted. Beautiful shop great people. Technicians know their business highly recommend them!!
